Fillers and Ageing

As we age, the lines and wrinkles on our face can linger a little longer and become a little deeper.
The curves and contours of the face can also change as volume is lost. Areas particularly prone to volume loss included the cheeks, lips, brows, temples and jawline. To help restore volume, dermal fillers are injectable gels that can be placed below the skin's surface to help provide you with more youthful contours and smoother skin.

What are they made of?

They are smooth injectable gels made from synthesised hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that occurs naturally in the skin. Once injected, they give your skin volume and hydration, diminishing the depth of wrinkles and creating a more refreshed facial appearance.

What areas of the face can be treated with a dermal filler?

Dermal fillers can 'plump up' small areas of the face such as the lips and brow area, and re-voluminise larger areas such as the cheeks and jawline.

How can it help with lips?

As we age, the lips and the surrounding area are particularly vulnerable to volume loss, The corners of the mouth can begin to droop, which can create a sad or angry look.
Additionally, the v-shaped area of the upper lip, known as the Cupid's bow, begins to flatten out. Vertical lip lines may also appear and cause lipstick to bleed. For youthful lips, stronger definition of the lip border or the subtle addition of volume can enhance these areas.
